Turbary Common, Bournemouth, England

Designed alongside Leigh Clark

As the largest area of heathland in north Bournemouth, Turbary Common is home to a great variety of important wildlife species and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The mural depicts a range of species, flora and fauna adapted to both wet and dry heathland habitats.

A total of 25 species are painted, including 8 insects, 5 birds, 8 flowers and plants, and 4 reptiles. This heathland is regularly cared for, BCP’s Heathland Mitigation Park Rangers working to ensure the space remains one enjoyed by both local residents and its heathland species.
